Dinner and Silent Auction on Aug 23rd. at 6pm

Dear Friends:

We want to invite you to participate in a very special event. Our neighborhood will hold a benefit auction and dinner on Sat Aug 23rd at 6:00 p.m. to benefit the family of Charlene & Curt Holbrook. We need your help to make it a success.

Charlene was recently diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer, at the age of 29. The Holbrooks are parents to three wonderful little boys, ages 18 months to 6 years. As a part of her treatment for the cancer, Charlene has undergone a double mastectomy and reconstruction. She recently completed 8 chemotherapy treatments, and is now undergoing radiation therapy. Charlene is no stranger to cancer as she watched her mother and sister both lose their battles with cancer recently. Curt and Charlene are wonderful people who have spent and still do spend a good part of their time in service of others. This is a family that is loved by all who know them.

As we're sure you understand, the emotional and financial stress in a situation such as this are huge. We, as a community, have been doing our best to be a support system to them, and now also feel a need to do whatever we can to help them with the financial burden.

We will be having a live auction, a silent auction and a barbecue dinner to raise the much needed funds for the Holbrook family. Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the door for $5.00.

This is where: 19730 E. Ocotillo RD, Queen Creek, AZ 85234. (LDS Meetinghouse on Ocotillo Rd between Hawes and Sossaman, north side of road.)

To donate, email me at mlcaz@hotmail.com We would love to have any auction items, large or small, but we need to have the items as soon as possible.

Dear Charlene,
I just wanted to let you know that our prayers are with you and your family. I just turned 30 and have 8 children and couldn't imagine the battle that you are fighting. My mom, myself & my 3 sisters are in the mists of raising $8800 so we can walk in the Susan G Koman 3-Day. My thoughts will be with you as we walk the 60 miles. May God bless you!
